Create four visible zones
- Keep: active tools, seasonal gear, keys, and household supplies still in use.
- Review: unlabeled boxes, documents, photographs, and anything another person owns.
- Remove: approved furniture, empty boxes, broken non-hazardous goods, and ordinary household clutter.
- Special handling: chemicals, paint, fuel, batteries, pressurized containers, tires, and unknown liquids.

Keep the loading path clear
Move vehicles first. Coil hoses and cords, close cabinets, and identify low shelves or overhead doors. Do not build a pile that blocks the only path through the garage.

- Close photos of heavy or oversized items
- The driveway or alley loading position
